As we enter into Black maternal health week, persisting racial disparities and efforts to close the gaps in maternity care are at top of mind for health systems, and cities across the country are calling for increased awareness of the issues. Many of these considerations include non-traditional approaches, including doula care and a focus on social determinants of health.
